How much as "The Tebow Phenomenon" increased interest in professional football? Has it at all? Tim Tebow, former star quarterback at the University of Florida, has had mixed success in his brief time in the NFL, but is today undoubtedly one of the sports most recognizable figures—despite being a backup on a below average team. With rumors swirling that Tebow could be traded or cut this offseason, the question is: How much has Tebow increased interest in professional football?

Tebow garners plenty of attention because he is an outspoken evangelical in a sport where there aren’t many. Tebow’s strong religious beliefs have made him a leader in the locker room and among fans. Tebow enjoyed some success as a starter in Denver, but has been downgraded to a seldom used backup in New York. Without a doubt, Tebow is the most popular bench-warmer in sports today, but has his popularity increased interest in the sport at all? The answer is complicated.

It was years ago that football surpassed baseball as the top sport in America. The Super Bowl is consistently the top rated program every year, with a consistent annual increase in viewership. It’s difficult to find hard evidence that Tebow has increased popularity in the sport, but is the reverse true: Has the NFL increased interest in Tebow, given fuel to "The Tebow Phenomenon?" It’s nearly impossible to argue otherwise.

There are plenty of young, attractive, outspoken evangelicals in America, so what’s made Tebow special? The quarterback is routinely hired as a guest speaker and preacher, is it for any reason but the visibility the NFL offers? Tebow is a great spiritual role model, but one thing seems clear at this point int the backup’s career: Tebow needs the NFL more than the NFL needs Tebow.

With the possibility of a fresh start this offseason, it’s possible Tebow will land on a team where he can start and perhaps his successful play will broaden the NFL’s presence in evangelical circles. Tebow’s NFL career is just starting, and his impact on the game may not be fully recognized for years. For now though, the NFL has provided Tebow with a stage, let’s wait and see what he does with it.

Singer Taylor Swift has had an ad campaign ad pulled from magazines, direct mail and billboards for excessive Photoshopping. The advertisement was for mascara which featured a closeup shot of Swift’s face in full makeup including lush, dark lashes.

However, in fine print at the bottom of the ad, there was a disclaimer saying that the photo had been enhanced and that consumers may not experience similar results. This has not only outraged customers of the highly-successful cosmetic company, but everyone from truth-in-advertising advocates to psychologists worrying about the message this sends to women and girls.Check out this link here.

Advertising critics feel the ad is misleading with or without the disclaimer. The product should be advertised as it was photographed. Redesigning, enhancing, and completely changing a photograph to sell a product that does not produce the results in the advertisement has been called outright “lying” by industry executives.

The ad has also caused a fury among laypersons and professionals as to the kind of message it sends to women regarding their outer appearance. Swift is a very young and beautiful woman who was chosen for this campaign due to her beauty.

Parents, educators and mental health professionals have an epidemic of young women with body image disorders as the result of feeling inadequate about their looks. Unrealistic models used in ads have come under fire for portraying their looks as normal.

Now, this cosmetic ad is telling the world that this beautiful woman was not good enough photographed as is. Even she cannot live up to the ideal.

Lady Gaga spent the year of 2011 entertaining around the world and was well received wherever she went. For her efforts, members of the Associated Press voted her Entertainer of the Year.

Editors and broadcasters of the AP were asked to cast their vote for the person they felt influenced entertainment and culture the most in 2011.

Lady Gaga was flattered by the honor and humbly thanked the Associated Press for naming her the Entertainer of the Year and for supporting her career over the years.I was looking for more information and found it here. She also thanked her fans for all of their support.

There were 135 ballots cast and the competition was still, but Lady Gaga managed to edge out a win over Steve Jobs by just three votes. Other entertainers also got many votes including Adele, Charlie Sheen and Taylor Swift.

Previous winners include Taylor Swift, Tina Fey and Betty White.

Lady Gaga says fame is still hard for her to accept but she is adjusting to it and appreciates all she has accomplished.

When she released her album, The Fame Monster, in May of 2011 it sold over one million copies in the first week by October she has sold over 8 million copies, which appears to solidify that she is deserving of being named Entertainer of the Year.

Kobe Bryant’s wife files for divorce after years of enduring his philandering ways and she stands to rake in a huge divorce settlement. One would think that after Kobe successfully defended himself against a Colorado resort employees accusations of non-consensual sex in 2003, that he would have thought twice about cheating on her again.

But alas, it seems that he just can’t shake the disease and after 10 years of marriage, Vanessa has decided to stop looking the other way. Putting up with his cheating for so long was most likely strategic on her part because the courts consider a 10-year marriage to be a lengthy one.

Kobe has been accused of being with actress Sanaa Lathan and Playboy’s Miss February 2009, Jessica Burciaga. Both women have denied being one of the many notches on his belt.

There has been speculation that the couple might be heading towards a reconciliation because they have been seen recently being affectionate towards each other but Vanessa appears to be moving forward with the divorce. She filed for the divorce on Dec. 15th, 2011, citing irreconcilable differences and she stands to receive approximately $75 million, not including child and spousal support.

Recently, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi put their spectacular $49 million Beverly Hills home on the market. The couple also recently purchased Brad Pitt’s 4000 square foot waterfront Malibu mansion that sits on 1.26 acres.

Reportedly, DeGeneres and de Rossi paid $12 million for Brad’s lavish mansion. Pitt paid $8.4 million for the home that he purchased from ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.

The home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It also features dark colored bamboo flooring and has access to the beach. It is the ideal place for Ellen and Portia and their pets.

According to insiders, Pitt spent several months renovating the beachfront home, which is evident by the lavish stainless steel kitchen with a walk in refrigerator and freezer. The kitchen also features other high end appliances. The glass walls showcase the picturesque views along the shoreline.

Renowned architect Chris Sorenson designed plans for a second story but Pitt never got around to having a second story built. It is unclear if DeGeneres and de Rossi will decide to add on to their new home.

It appears that the couple may be downsizing but the comedian and actress are said to be worth around $85 million and Forbes Magazine listed DeGeneres as one of the richest women in Hollywood.

In an interview with AOL music last December, Justin Bieber revealed that his mother never let him believe in the story of Santa Clause. He reveals that his mother preferred the honest approach to the myth for the simple fact that when she explained the existence of God to the soon to be pop star, that her word be reliable on the matter. A choice that many parents have applauded.

Bieber however also shared that he never let his young friends in on his truth about the big guy in red. He didn’t want to take away from anyone else’s Christmas spirit or fun. “I was a good kid.” Justin explains. “I didn’t tell my friends or ruin it for anyone.”

And when Christmas morning came around in the Bieber household, the clan didn not open presents deceptively signed, “From Santa.” Instead they played a unique game of dice in which rolling doubles meant it was your turn to pick one present. Of course, if another person rolled doubles, they could switch out your chosen gift for theirs. Justin says that on one Christmas, he ended up with pots and pans, which he very reasonably decided to give to his mother.
